GDG Devfest'13 Joint Tour Initiative Concept

GDG DevFests are community driven events that offer speaker sessions across Google products and latest features, all-day hack-a-thons, codelabs, barcamps etc.
Each GDG DevFest will be inspired by and uniquely tailored to the needs of the developer community that hosts it. But while no two events will be exactly alike, each GDG DevFest will, at its core, be powered by a shared belief that when developers come together to exchange ideas, amazing things can happen.

Here at GDG Mombasa, we are planning to organize a GDG DevFest'13 Mombasa event which will engage lots of developers in the communities, not only in Kenya but also outside the country. Plans are underway, please check back for more details :-)

Importance of IT

Information Technology or IT mainly deals with computer applications. The common work environment today is totally dependent on computers. This has led to the need to develop and consistently upgrade dedicated computer software like project management software, for a number of related requirements. These include storage and protection of content, processing and transmitting of dedicated information and the secured retrieval of information, when and as required. IT promotes computing technology, covering everything from installing applications to developing databases.

Why is Information Technology Important

All our work related applications are now completely automated, thanks to the IT sector. IT professionals are people involved in essential management of sensitive data, exclusive computer networking and systems-engineering. The advancement of the IT sector has resulted in automated:

  • Administration of entire systems.
  • Production and manipulation of sensitive information.
  • Cultural development and communication.
  • Streamlining of business processes and timely upgrades.
Advantages of IT

• Globalization
True globalization has come about only via this automated system. The creation of one interdependent system helps us to share information and end linguistic barriers across the continents. The collapse of geographic boundaries has made the world a 'global village'. The technology has not only made communication cheaper, but also possible much quicker and round the clock. The wonders of text messages, email and auto-response, backed by computer security applications, have opened up scope for direct communication.

Eating healthy

Our food choices each day affect your health — how you feel today, tomorrow, and in the future.
Good nutrition is an important part of leading a healthy lifestyle. Combined with physical activity, your diet can help you to reach and maintain a healthy weight, reduce your risk of chronic diseases (like heart disease and cancer), and promote your overall health.

THE IMPACT OF NUTRITION ON YOUR HEALTH

Unhealthy eating habits have contributed to the obesity epidemic in the United States: about one-third of U.S. adults (33.8%) are obese and approximately 17% (or 12.5 million) of children and adolescents aged 2—19 years are obese.1  Even for people at a healthy weight, a poor diet is associated with major health risks that can cause illness and even death.

Advantages of martial arts

Martial arts training at peak performance levels is the best way to prevent disease, as well as to stimulate positive changes in the body's natural healing systems. Our current lifestyle of Lazy-boy chairs, remote controls and S.U.V.s does not challenge us to move,  yet our biological need for physical movement is still the same as when time began. Martial arts training can strongly influence the function of most of the human organ systems and much of the chemistry of our brains and bodies. The changes brought about by martial arts training are dose responsive, but maybe not in the way you believe. In fact, twice as much is twice as good only up to optimal levels. Beyond that actually tempts an over training response in the body and a decline in physical and mental health. Martial arts training, as well as other exercise forms, dosage combines distance (or time), intensity and frequency -- how far, how fast, how often. An additional factor may be technique, which determines the muscle groups and total muscle mass used in the exercise.
